Shoto Khan delivers a high-octane approach to hip-hop music that is both forward-thinking and culturally unique. Deriving his name from Shotokan Karate and the great Ghengis Khan, he makes the listener well aware of his love for martial arts and Asian culture. His obsession with the various fighting styles has led to him crafting his music in an aggressive manner, with a furious delivery and a ferocious flow that is reminiscent of a cross between acts like Gravediggaz and Lil Jon.
For the better part of a decade, Shoto has developed his sound as one of the best in Philadelphia while creating collectives around the cities and opening up for local and international legends alike. Having performed with such acts as Reef the Lost Cause, Adlib, Wildcard and the Kotton Mouth Kings, Shoto Khan is a veteran in the Hip-Hop community. He can switch between banger trap style tracks in the fashion of 6ix9ine and then do a complete 180 creating tracks with lyrical verses and karate audio clips spliced in over boombap instrumentation reminiscent of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Fresh off a Top 20 finish in the Anno Domini Son Contest in 2020 for his song “Burpees Not Slurpees,” Shoto Khan continues to bring the fire with every punchline and live performance to date!
